The Rest is Silence
The Rest is Silence is an immersive experience that reinterprets Shakespeare’s Hamlet for a modern, college audience. As you arrive at the castle doors, you’ll meet your guide, the ghost of Hamlet’s past. Hamlet ushers you into his home…and his mind. The chaos of Elsinore Castle unwinds alongside, not in front of, its audience with a haunted house style staging.
The set, comprised of multiple rooms throughout the castle, aimed to capture Hamlet's increasingly deteriorating state of mind. As the show progressed, the audience was led further into both the castle and Hamlet's psyche, in spaces increasingly reflective of the character's worsening state of mind through broken furniture, crooked frames, molding walls, and litter.
